NATURAL VERSATILITY

As part of our ongoing Creative Direction collaboration for the American brand Leland Furniture, Gemma is a physical confirmation of the Lelands brand strategy that has been laid out since 2020.

The collections is designed to reflect Leland's good natured and optimistic elegance in its welcoming gesture and crafted details.
The sculpted and haptic plywood extends the limits of what is possible with traditional plywood.

Gemma is shaped around Leland’s guiding idea: made for human moments. Our art direction expresses this through a visual narrative of finding a place that simply feels right. We looked to the character of northern Michigan—its landscapes, its communities, and the small moments of joy, ease, and connection that make a place feel like home.

These feelings and sensations became our guiding inspiration: creating a world rooted in comfort, craftsmanship, and warmth.

CHAIRS, TABLES, LOUNGE CHAIR

Gemma is a versatile family of chairs available in three types of veneers – oak, walnut, and birch; three base types - wood, metal sled, 5 star base ; and optional seat or seat & back pads.

The collection is completed with the Gemma tables and rounded out by Gemma Stitch, a softly architectural upholstered piece and comfortable companion for informal collaborative spaces.

TECHNICALLY CAPABLE

The Gemma tables feature three base styles and supports informal work with options such as power integration and a height adjustable mechanism, while the “Task Base” variant adds ergonomic features such as pneumatic height adjustment and tilt mechanism.

The collection maintains a cohesive design language, with gentle, soft geometry and sculpted plywood surfaces that allow pieces (chairs, lounge seating, tables) to mix seamlessly in a space.
